Build Your Import List
Use the catalog browser below to search for glass items you own. Click "Add" to add them to your import list. Adjust quantities as needed.
Export the Inventory File
Click the "Export Inventory" button in the import list panel. This will download a file named something like molten-import-2025-10-23.molten
Transfer to Your iPhone
Choose one of these methods:
- âĸ Email: Email the file to yourself, open the email on your iPhone, and tap the attachment
- âĸ AirDrop: On Mac, right-click the file â Share â AirDrop to your iPhone
- âĸ iCloud Drive: Save the file to iCloud Drive on your computer, then open Files app on iPhone â iCloud Drive
- âĸ Direct on iPhone: Visit this page on your iPhone and export directly
Import into Molten
Once you have the file on your iPhone:
- âĸ If you tapped the file attachment: Tap the share button â scroll and find "Molten" in the list of apps â tap to import
- âĸ From Files app: Tap and hold the .molten file â Share â Molten
- âĸ From within Molten: Open Molten â Inventory tab â tap the menu button (â¯) â "Import from File" â select your file
Review and Confirm
Molten will show you a preview of what will be imported. Review the items and tap "Import" to add them to your inventory.
Auto-Save: Your import list is automatically saved in this browser. If you close the window and come back later, your items will still be here unless you are in incognito mode or have cookies disabled.
Important: You still need to export the JSON file to import into Molten. To continue on a different browser or computer, export your JSON file and save it (see "Tips" below for backup recommendations).
đĄ Tips & Data Portability
Keep Your JSON Files as Backup
The JSON files you export are a permanent record of your inventory. Save them to:
- Your computer's Documents folder
- Cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud Drive)
- Email them to yourself for safekeeping
This gives you a backup that's independent of any app, and you can re-import it anytime.
Export Your Inventory from Molten
You're never locked into Molten. Export your complete inventory anytime:
- Open Molten â Inventory tab
- Tap the menu button (â¯) â "Export Inventory"
- Share the JSON file to your email, cloud storage, or computer
Your data is yours. Take it with you if you ever switch tools.
